The Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education degree program is designed to prepare individuals to work with students in grades 6-12 in a specific content area. Students may choose to study Biology, Chemistry, General Science, Mathematics, Language Arts, Social Studies or Physics.

Class B Certification and Double Major

Satisfactory completion of the program requirements and accompanying tests lead to a recommendation for a Class B Certification in a content specific field of study.  Because candidates are required to complete a content field major in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education leads to a double major in education and the content field.  Secondary Education undergraduate programs begin at 120 hours, depending on the field of study.

Candidates are required to complete a content field major in the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the Secondary Education major.  Majors begin as 120 hours, depending on the field of study.
